iPhone charging issues on iOS 18 Since updating to iOS 18 my iPhone 14 Pro Max is charging very slowly, taking around 9 hours to fully charge. The battery charge in creases linearly very slowly. Prior to iOS 18 it would charge quickly at first then slow down a bit but total charge time was under 2 hours but now about 9 hours. It’s saying it’s a slow charger when it does this. I should not have to get a new charger because of an iOS update and the phone was charging fine before the update. Is there an ios18 update that will fix this issue as it is not a hardware problem with either the phone or chargers.

Am guessing it’s either glitch in the update OR after recent reports of US cyber attacks its a precautionary measure https://www.forbes.com/sites/kateoflahertyuk/2025/02/12/ios-1831-update-now-warning-issued-to-all-iphone-users/

Hopefully It should not be anything to do with chargers (unless they are bending the rules), as per EU directive in December 2024 all fast charging cables should do the job https://commission.europa.eu/news/eu-common-charger-rules-power-all-your-devices-single-charger-2024-12-28_en

This answer is garbage. Our phones and charges worked perfectly fine until we updated to 18.3 as soon as that happened my 45w charger no longer can keep up. I demand that you fix this. I’m not buying another charger when the 45w charger I had bought a month prior kept my phone at 100% while I do Uber all day long. Now it can’t keep up the second I installed 18.3.

This has been driving me bonkers for a month. My battery was changed by at an Apple store a couple of months ago. It worked for a while.

Suddenly my battery drains every few hours, then recharging can take over eight hours! Apple cable with Apple outlet, or my PC, or my car. It is set to optimized charging.

I turn off my phone to charge it while I sleep, in hopes of at least starting the day with a working phone.

Unacceptable. Thank goodness I lead a dull life.

Yes and it wont let me update again because my phone has to be 20%, but it's been stuck at 15% for an hour.

Since the latest update on my iPhone and iPad they really struggle to charge. They don’t even recognise they are plugged in half the time. This needs addressing ASAP.
