I have tried to add a email address for using a different email address for social media like X. I cant seem to find a helpful document that explains the how to part of it. I have made one but doesn’t show up on my phone so I can’t see what the wife sent me to test out. ???? Help.

Are you trying to change the primary email address associated with your Apple Account?
Change your Apple Account primary email address - Apple Support
Or, are you trying to add a second email address alias that can receive emails in you existing iCloud email?

Note that these are two very differnt things. Also, make sure that you are not actually creating a second Apple Account. That is rarely ever needed or desirable. Note that both of the above are completed through the web and not from within the Mail application.
I am trying to make a brand new email address to my existing apple account. I went to settings mail new email chose icloud, typed what I wanted to call it and made a password, and no luck. I guess I will try calling tomorrow. Thanks for trying
