Safari is asking for a password before I can access stored passwords.

Hi, Using Safari 16.5 on Macbook Air with Ventura 13.4.

When I go to Safari Settings, click Passwords, it tells me that passwords are locked and I need to enter the password for my account. I can't access the keychain without a password that I have forgotten.

My iCloud/Apple ID password doesn't work. I see no option for how to retrieve a lost password. I have no idea what password it's talking about. It's been years, at least, since I've tried to access this.

How do I reset this?

Any ideas much appreciated. Thanks

Fixing that is primary. Start here: If you forgot your Apple Account password
