Unable to connect LaCie external hard drive to iMac M4

Trying to hook up a Lacie external hard drive to my new iMac M4. I had to buy a usb port to hook my Lacie hard drive to the computer and it's not working. Keeps telling me its not there?

Do you mean a USB hub? From the link you provided it's not a self powered hub. IYou should take it back for a refund and get a USB self powered hub.

What "usb port" did you buy...?

What model is the LaCie external drive..?

It should work using a simple USB-C to USB-A adapter.

for some examples:

Are you sure that the able is good? Is there another device you can try to hook up with this cable just to be sure?

The other question is can you hook up the external hard drive to some other computer to make sure it's still good?

Other than that, just make sure both ends are plugged in nice and solid. I know, that might seem obvious, but I have had that happen before on an old PC where everything looked plugged in tight, but it took a slight wiggle to seat it well.
