Photos App Sorting Issue: Recent Photos Mixed with Random Old Photos

I'm experiencing an issue with the Photos app on my iPhone. When I try to share or upload photos through apps like Discord, WhatsApp, or Messenger, and the photo library opens, the sorting is incorrect. The first 40 or so images show the latest photos, but after that, it displays old random images. This makes it difficult to find and share specific photos.

Details:

- This occurs when accessing the photo library through third-party apps

- The issue persists even after updating apps and restarting the iPhone

- The Photos app itself seems to display photos correctly

- Date and time settings on the iPhone are set to update automatically

- iPhone model: [Your iPhone model]

- iOS version: [Your iOS version]

Steps I've already taken:

1. Updated all relevant apps (WhatsApp, Messenger, etc.)

2. Restarted my iPhone

3. Verified that the date and time settings are correct and set to automatic

I would appreciate any assistance in resolving this sorting issue, as it significantly impacts my ability to share photos efficiently

Apps can sort photos multiple ways. This includes date taken, date added, date edited, last edited and about ½ dozen other ways.

Photos app uses date taken it appears. Your third party apps are viewing and sorting differently. Unless the third party apps have a setting to change sorting/viewing order i think you‘ll just have to adjust to it. The other option is purchasing or subscribing to a more full featured photography storing app.

Photos sorts by Date Created or by Date Added, and you may not be expecting the current sort setting. On my iPad, when I use Safari to upload a picture, and I choose Photos in the media picker, I get this:

In the lower left corner (with the arrow) you can choose the sort order, and you're given the ability to limit the search to favorites or videos and others.

Does it work this way on an iPhone?

When I upload any photo to any kind of app it only shows at the top "Photos/ Albums" . If I select albums it shows random date photos . But this is not happening in photos app .

Sharing image in third party app it shows filter by uploaded date and I can not change it through iphone. There is no option for that. But in photos app I can do it and it works fine .

Hmm-- I never use my phone for stuff like that, but clearly the iPad allows filtering and sorting within Safari. I surprised at the difference.
