rebooted several times

forgot device and reconnected several times
performed the process multiple times over the last few days to no avail. CarPlay will not connect.
Everthing has worked fine since I purchased my vehicle. Only change was the iOS update this week.
iPhone 16 Pro Max, iOS 18
18.4 is now allowing apple car play to work for iPhone 14 and iPhone 16 Pro Max in a 2025 kia sportage.

My work phone is iPhone 14. Was on 18.3.0 and car play worked until auto forced by work policy last night to update to 18.3.1 now both that and my iPhone 16 pro max personal phone both won’t work with Apple CarPlay in brand new car with latest firmware etc.
Just updated to 18.3.2 did NOT fix issue.
restarted phone, car, disconnect, forget device and still no connection.
did work on 18.3.0 so whatever has changed since then is still broken in 18.3.2
Apple CarPlay worked on our 2 iPhone 11 Pros using iOS 18.xx. Just purchased 2 iPhone 16 pros using IOS 18.4 and neither is compatible with CarPlay. So, obviously, IOS 18.4 is NOT a fix.
