MacBook Pro A1278 requests dummy password: What to do next?

My new MacBook Pro is requesting me to enter dummy password but I don't have. What to do next?

The newest A1278 Macbook Pro was discontinued in October 2016. Yours cannot be "new."


Your issue sounds like you bought from a reseller who failed properly prepare the computer for resale. If the seller represented it as "new," that's fraud. Thisis what should have been done:


What to do before you sell, give away, trade in, or recycle your Mac - Apple Support


If you bought from a reseller, return it for a refund. Only the person who set the password can reset it.
