Should I buy something new?

I know less then then a two-year when it comes to computer technology/protocol. My desktop iMac is now considered vintage and updates are no longer available. So I'm considering purchasing something new. Given my lack of any meaningful computer abilities/knowledge, can anyone suggest a best "bang for the buck" new device(s) I should consider?

iMac 21.5″, macOS 12.7

It depends on what your common/usual workflow is on the Mac?

To me the biggest bang for the buck is a Mac Mini M4 with 1 TB SSD drive and 16 GB of RAM. I combined that with an LG 32" 4K monitor w/speakers for a total of $1417. A comparably configured 24" iMac would be $2065. If you have a more demanding workflow upping the RAM to 24 would only add $200 and 32 GB of RAM $400 more. If you only need a 27" monitor you'd save even more.

Follow Katana-San's link to find out what it says your best choice would be and then compare it to the Mini.
