Delayed notifications issue on iPhone 13

I have too many issues regarding notifications on my iPhone 13, some of them don’t ring, some of them never arrive, some of them arrived 10, 15 or even an hour later, and I particularly never get notifications from the Apple Mail app, even if they’re enabled. For example: I get a notification from the Gmail app in my iPhone 11, and 10 minutes later, I receive it on my iPhone 13.

I can’t tell if it’s a network problem, a bug on later iOS, a problem that particularly affects iPhone 13 users, or a problem with some apps.

I’ve installed freshly iOS 18 from a computer, but, like many other bugs, the problem still persists.

Does this issue have a fix, or is it another one of those issues that just persist despite doing all the troubleshooting steps?

That’s very frustrating, hope someone can help out. Thank you

Is there someone from Apple who can help out? I already restored my iPhone 13 using iTunes but the problem still persists.
What’s next? Should I buy a new iPhone because of that?

Probably, but you need to contact Apple. Posting in this user-to-user forum will not get Apple’s attention.

Best way to contact Apple:

  • Install the Apple Support app on your iPhone or iPad - you can contact support directly from the app, and the tech will have (with your permission) access to diagnostic data on your device

Other options:

(Note that both of the above have options to receive a callback or chat)

For notifications to work you must have a cellular network voice connection - that is, you need to be able to make and receive calls.

If you are wearing an Apple Watch notifications will only sound on the watch, unless the iPhone is unlocked.

If you have VPN installed (even if you aren’t using it) that can interfere with Notifications; you must actually delete the VPN profile, not just turn it off.

I changed my iPhone 15, which had the same problem, for an iPhone 16 and it still has the error

Well, of course it does. You can’t fix a software problem by replacing hardware.

I’m not wearing an Apple Watch nor I have a BPN profile installed. This notification issue happens on Mail apps such as the native Apple Mail app, and third- party apps. It has nothing to do with a Mobile data plan nor a BPN, I think it’s buggy software but how to know?

There’s an easy way to know: when something is caused by buggy software you will thousands of posts about it, as well as reports in the technical press websites. So whatever the problem is, it is something in your phone.

Ok, Then it’s iOS 18’s fault.

I just reset all settings, and I no longer receive WhatsApp notifications, the app doesn’t even ask me to get notifications, so I’ll be forced to erase the app and reinstall it, but I don’t wanna do it because all my recent WhatsApp chats, messages and files might be lost.

Nope, I still can’t find an efective fix to this annoying bug. I’m pretty shocked, frustrated and I honestly don’t know how to effectively troubleshoot this issue since it’s happening to my iPhone 13 since iOS 17.6.1, if I’m not wrong
