Can I backup iPhone and iPad to micro SD media without iCloud, iTunes, Mac, or PC?

A suggestion if I may,

I would like to be able to backup and restore my iPhone and iPad via portable sd media or a portable hard drive (micro sd cards are preferred) via the usb connection on the devices WITHOUT iCloud, Mac, iTunes or a pc (windows, Linux, etc.). One would just need to plug in an adapter and media into the device, go to files or settings and backup/restore the devices, pictures, videos and other needed information. One does not always have access to the cloud, or iTunes, and, yes, quite often prefer not too. Yes, it bites into a (very) small slice of the cloud storage pie, but, those that desire this option are not using the option currently anyway to any great extent if one thinks about it, so, not a real loss, but a great boon to device users and public relations of said users.

thank you for your time.

Yes, Muggy, I realise this, thank you for the “Captain Obvious” reply. This question is a suggestion for the “dev” team and coders as an update to the OS.

You aren't writing anyone from Apple here on this user to user only forum, which neither Apple, nor Apple Developers participate.

You are welcome to make such a suggestion to Apple, but the chances of this becoming a reality aren't likely. iOS is walled garden operating system and for security reasons, backing up to an external drive isn't likely to ever happen. You can use a computer. You can use iCloud. Those are your options.

You can still use this link to make a suggestion to Apple --> Product Feedback - Apple

Then maybe you should pay attention to where you are posting.

This is a user forum. You are not talking to the “dev team”.

If you’d bothered to read the TOU, you might know that.
