My MacBook Air won't see any Bluetooth devices

The Mac will never directly connect or "pair" with the iPhone via Bluetooth. That isn't a thing.

To use Airdrop, both devices need simply to have Bluetooth and wi-fi enabled and be within a short distance of each other.

Here is Apple's guidance: Use AirDrop to send items to nearby Apple devices - Apple Support

❝Make sure of the following:

• Both devices have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® turned on.
• The devices are within 30 feet (10 meters) of each other.

If you want to use AirDrop to send items between your Apple devices, sign in to your Apple Account in order to automatically accept and save the items.❞

So this situation is:

• The MacBook doesn't see the iPhone as an AirDrop destination so cannot sent to it.

• The iPhone does see the MacBook as a destination but cannot send to it.

Yes, this is weird.

Since a simple reboot of your Mac doesn’t fix things, see if the problem still happens in safe mode.

How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support 

Safe mode will often correct weird software behavior by forcing the OS to do disk repair, clear caches and other housekeeping and temporarily disables third-party mods.

Do you have the same problem while booted in Safe mode?

You can exit safe mode by restarting your Mac normally, then reevaluate the problem.

Are you running any sort of anti-virus, or VPN software on the Mac?

Any cleaning or optimizing apps running?

If you haven't already : Try turning Blutooth off, wait a while, then turn Bluetooth back on.

Check for the iPhone in the sidebar of any window in the Finder

You can also try using a cable to connect the two.

Else: Wondering if your iPhone 14 Pro has the newest update installed.

(You can check in Settings > General >Software updates, to see if an update is available.

Reminder: It is always wise to back-up an iPhone before updating or upgrading.)

You have never been able to pair an iphone and a computer using Bluetooth. It is completely unnecessary for features like airdrop, handoff, and continuity.

Check the settings for airdrop on the computer.
