Audio delay after iOS 18

After updating to iOS 18, different audio functions in my iPhone 14 have a significant delay. For example when the alarm goes off and I click to stop it, it takes a good 3-5 seconds for the alarm to stop. Or when someone calls me and I answer, it again takes that 3-5 seconds for me to hear anything from the other end. Same goes when I make the call.

I've restarted the phone and it has sufficient storage space.

Has anyone experienced similar issues and was there a fix? Thanks for the help.

Do you have a 3rd party VPN installed, even if you are not using it? If so, delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile. If that fixes it, you can try reinstalling VPN. However, VPN actually reduces your privacy, it does not enhance it.

Try deleting it and see. But when you have a VPN installed all communications go through it, so if it is a slow VPN it can slow down everything.

Thanks! Yes I do use Freedome. How does a VPN affect the sound delay?
