Can I partially finance a new iPhone through Apple?

I am planning on purchasing a new iPhone, not sure if I am able to buy the handset outright or if I should finance it for 24 months. I'm wondering if i can pay half the cost of the handset upfront and then finance the remaining cost. Is this possible through Apple or only through my mobile carrier?

Thank you.

Apple will finance the entirety of the phone either through the Apple Card Monthly Installments or the iPhone Upgrade program, in either case, once financed, you are free to pay more than the monthly fee at any time to reduce the principal.

There is no option for a down payment in either case, but you can once financed pay as much as you want to, to reduce the principal without any penalty.
