How do I save duplicate photos from the past on iPhone?

I have 24,000 photos on my phone. Someone will have sent me a photo God knows how long ago. They’ll mention remember the picture I sent you and I say I can not find it. Can you send it to me again please? They send it again and the stupid phone just replaces the photo that I already have. This does not help me. I have 24,000 photos on my phone. I want it saved currently. I do not want to have to scroll through 24,000 pictures to find something that someone sent me God knows how long ago. This needs to get fixed. How do I save photos that someone sent me today that they might have sent me God knows 10 years ago or whenever?

I'm sorry you haven't even tried what I suggested. Sorting the Library by Date Added would put the pictures you just added at the front of the Library in the very center of the Photos window.

Looking at Recently Saved would put the pictures you just saved at the top of the Recently Saved collection.

I also notice that when I save a duplicate picture from my Messages, I get this:

They have provided "Something like that."

thank you for your response. How would that help me if I don’t know when it was originally posted? The iphone automatically replaces the photo on the date that it was originally posted if that makes sense. Frustrating. They think they are doing you a favor by not duplicating a photo but the result is that then you can never find the photo again unless you go through all your pictures. I wish they would remove this feature and ask the question along the lines of do you want to replace the original or do you want to add this as a new photo to your photo stream? Something like that.
