Unlock iPhone 7 Passcode

Hi everyone, if the iPhone 7 has been entered too many times and is locked, is there a way to unlock it and still keep the data inside? Because this is the phone of a relative who just passed away, the family wants to unlock it to get the data but does not know the password. I do not know if Apple supports unlocking or if there is a data recovery center that can unlock it without affecting the data inside. Thank you very much everyone.

Sorry no, once the phone is locked there is no way to unlock it without erasing all the data. Apple can unlock it for you if you have the correct documents so it can be used again but the data will be erased.

Hopefully the data on the locked phone was

  • Synchronized to iCloud (e.g., using iCloud Photos), or
  • Backed up to iCloud

If you go through the process to gain access to your relative's Apple Account – and Apple helps you – you could log into https://www.icloud.com/ from any modern Web browser to see what data was synchronized there. To see what is in an iCloud backup, you'll have to restore it to a phone (wiping the contents of the phone in the process).
