I just noticed that my camera cover on my Iphone 15 (base model) is cracked. The camera still works but want to replace the cover. Can it be done DIY or does Apple need to fix? Unfortunately I gave up Apple Care so that isn't an option

I would not recommend you try to fix it yourself because you do not have the proper parts and expertise that Apple has to perform repairs. Once you try to repair the iPhone yourself, Apple will not even touch your iPhone anymore for service.
It will be $169 without AppleCare+. Please make a reservation at your nearest Apple Store's Genius Bar or Apple Authorized Service Provider to schedule your rear camera repair.
