One of many common scams.

Others include “hey pervert”, all sorts of romance scams, fake “Apple Store” reports of fraud, the “your relative got kidnapped / jailed / arrested”, outstanding warrant scams, cryptocurrency scams, outstanding tax bill scams, and all sorts of other rubbish.

The sending address is faked or compromised, same as the sending phone numbers and sending text message numbers are also faked.

Mark the message as junk, and continue on with your day.
