(FIXED) Without Factory Reset - Deleting Apple Maps Data

Apple Maps was taking up 17.7 GB of data on my phone and it was horrible!! Only solution I saw on the Apple Forum from others was factory resetting, but after clearing up enough storage to download the iOS 18.3.1 update that deleted the maps data automatically- so somehow make space for the software update and it should clear the data once installed!!

Why is my Apple Maps taking up 27 GB of storage space? For some reason, my Apple Maps takes up 27 GB of storage space. I have tried to delete the app, restart my phone, and offload the app. I also made sure there was no offline maps or data downloaded. I also turned it off in my Apple ICloud storage settings. Even when the app is uninstalled it continues to take up more space. I need to update my phone which will hopefully fix the issue. However, it’s really hard to do that when every time I make space, apple maps takes that space so quickly. Any solutions please? I don’t want to back up and reset my phone.
