I want to add a photo to a trip in Photos

Photos assembles some photos into a trip based on the location. It failed to add a few photos into a specific trip, presumably because they were taken too close to home to be considered as part of the trip.

Can I manually add that photo to the trip? I don't see an "Add" button or something similar. (It does offer to add to an album, but not to the trips...)

Thanks.

Have you tried to drag it in there?

But, I don't think you can since:

It seems to be more like a smart album, you can't add content.

So sorry, no pictures of you waving goodbye from the airport.

Collections like "Trips" or "Memories" are provided by Apple according to the criteria that they've created. They tend to prefer pictures of people to landscapes, for instance. As Keith Barkley says, we have no control of these "gifts" from Apple.

But you can Select All and put all their choices in your own album, and then add pictures as you wish. I use these "gift" views as a source of pictures, and ideas, to start my own albums, which are better than Apple's starter albums.

As Keith Barkley also suggests, you can create a Smart Album of your own

that includes a trip. And by choosing favorites, you can limit the pictures to your best ones. This is way better than relying solely on Apple's choices!
