Mouse is hard to use with Pages bc the "page" slides up and down.

2024 MacBook Pro--mouse is hard to use with Pages bc the "page" slides up and down. Very squirrelly. One of my friends has the same problem with her new M2 Mac desktop.

I have a terrible time trying to set--insertion point?--that may be what it's called--with my new MacBook M4 Pro (Sequoia 15.3) and an old mouse. In Pages especially, it's horrible; the "page" slides up and down as if trying to avoid the cursor. It's challenging to select text, or move the cursor somewhere else in the document. (It's doing it right now, too, but here on Safari it isn't as squirrelly as it is with Pages.)

A friend of mine has the same problem with her new 2024 Mac M2 desktop.

Any of you folks heard of such a thing?

Thank you for your attention thus far!

Does the "sliding up and down" end when you take your finger off of the trackpad or mouse? Have you adjusted the sensitivity in System Settings > Keyboard or Trackpad panels?

If you are wearing a long-sleeve garment, that fabric can touch the trackpad and cause movement on the Pages display.

If you are using a non-Apple mouse or a quite old Apple mouse, you might consider a new Apple Magic mouse. That is what I use with Pages v14.3 in macOS Sequoia v15.3.1 and have no issues with Pages documents as you describe.
