Is it normal for my iPhone to be this bad this fast?

Had my iPhone for two years and the keyboard or touchscreen rather is gosh darn near useless, often clicks on the wrong things or is just unresponsive, I’ll watch myself type something out and the wrong letters will show up, often if I want to hit the m button the delete button is pressed instead but if I hit delete the L button is hit instead, it will replace correct words with words that dont even make sense in the sentence. It will highlight random **** whenever i try to move the cursor. This has forced me to use voice to text to an unhealthy amount, and that in its own is another can of worms I don’t have time to deal with.

and, yes, I do have big fingers and type fast, I have found that on older iPhone models These problems weren’t as severe, it’s like the phone is actively fighting to be used properly. The last three iPhones I’ve had since 2017 have progressively worse in quality, it’s like after two years, These things become just trash. Do I need to go to Apple for a new screen or something do I need a new touchpad or am I just going crazy

iPhone 15, iOS 18

When your touches on the screen are not registered correctly, then it is your Digitizer that is failing. It is built into the screen and replacing the screen resolves the problem. The digitizer is responsible for touches on the screen and sometimes when they are failing you will even see "ghost touches", where it appears something is tapped even when you are not doing it. It is a constant problem with a cracked screen, but they can also fail when the screen is not cracked.
