Why is my Apple Gift Card showing as redeemed?

A few months ago I traded in a few Mac items for $235. Apple shows this has been redeemed, but it never showed up as a credit on my ApplePay. I thought it was still available to be used with my next Apple product purchase. Is it?

Did Apple deposit it into your Apple Account (formerly known as Apple ID or iCloud account)? If so, you may have been using it for any monthly subscriptions, games, in app purchases etc. Funds in Apple Account and/or Apple Gift cards are always drawn from first, then credit cards etc.
