I have an Apple "magic keyboard" which is supposed to be backlit; however, the backlight is not engaging. I've increased the keyboard brightness with the control center and I've reset the SMC.

The Magic Keyboard keys are not illuminated. Only the Magic Keyboards for iPad have that functionality.

Not sure if my previous response went through. When I purchased the keyboard from the Apple Store they said it was backlit; in fact, the sales rep said ALL magic keyboards are backlit. I spent over 30 minutes on a chat with Apple Support this afternoon. When no suggestions were working I suggested that perhaps the keyboard did not have the backlight function, but the Support Rep apparently felt otherwise. He scheduled me for a Genius Bar meeting at the Apple store for tomorrow which I have now cancelled. Thanks for the feedback.
