How can I escalate a denied refund request for an app that did not perform as advertised?

Hello. I recently subscribed to the app “Creati: Gen AI Content Creator” through the App Store. However, I canceled the subscription on the same day because the app did not deliver what was advertised. Despite canceling immediately andnotusing the subscription, I was still charged, and my refund request was denied without any optionto appeal or contact support.

The main issue is that the app does not work as demonstrated in the promo materials on the App Store. Specifically, when trying to generate videos using the built-in templates (for example, “Jesus Hug” and “Lion Hug”), my face was altered beyond recognition. The results were completely unrealistic andnothinglike the smooth, natural-looking faces shown in the demo videos.

This is highly misleading, as the app promotes professional-quality face integration, but in reality, the AI distorts the face in an unnatural and cartoonish way, making the videos unusable.

I tried to report the issue via reportaproblem.apple.com, but it says the item isnot eligible for a refund, and there is no way to appeal or provide additional information.

Since I live in Israel, I donot have access to proper Apple Support channels (no direct chat orcall options), and my credit card provider will not dispute the charge unless Apple confirms the refund. I am completely stuck with no way to escalate this case.

I strongly believe this purchase qualifies for a refund due to two key reasons:

1. The subscription was canceled on the same day andnot used beyond initial testing.

2. The app did not perform as advertised and delivered distorted, unusable results.

I am simply asking for a fair refund for a product that did not meet expectations and was not used. I would appreciate any advice on how to escalate this issue or contact Apple Support directly.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Many of these phone numbers work only when dialed from within their associated country or region. Telephone numbers are subject to change.

  • Local and national telephone rates apply.

I gave you the only two numbers Apple publishes for Israel. The page I linked to in my first post also has a link to initiate a chat. There is no email support, no escalation form. If you prefer you can search for Apple’s phone number in Cork, Ireland, their European HQ, but not sure they have any jurisdiction over you country/region and may not be able to assist.

Personally, I’d start with the phone numbers I provided. Good luck.

Some developers offer a free trial so you can try the service out first and cancel if it does not live up to your exceptions. If a developer does not offer a free trial, you cannot create your own by trying the service out and cancelling later. That is the benefit of choosing a service that offers a free trial, otherwise there would be no need to have one.

I do see support available for you in Israel, is this what you had tried:

We're just users, like you, trying to help another user the best we can. There's nothing anyone here can do beyond give you the Apple support details. If you want to take it further then you need either talk to Apple or talk to a lawyer, but getting arsey with users on this forum isn't going to help you.

If you want some advice I'd say that next time you should check the reviews. There aren't enough on the Apple store to register, but one look at the Google store reviews would have been enough to put me off even downloading it, never mind taking out a sub.

Thanks, but I already explained that the app in question does not offer a free trial — that's not the issue. The issue is that the app did not work as described and I canceled the subscription on the same day due to poor functionality.

More importantly: when I go to reportaproblem.apple.com, this specific app isnot even listed in my recent purchases, so I cannot even submit a refund request or contact Apple Support through that system. There is no optionto choose this app and no way to appeal the refund denial.

Also, in Israel there is no way to chat with Apple Support or reach a real person — there is only a FAQ and automated system.

So again — I’m not asking about general policy. I’m asking **how to actually reach a real Apple Support agent** in this situation where:

1. Refund optionis blocked for this specific app.

2. There is no appeal path.

3. There is no human support contact available in my region.

Is there a direct email, escalation form, or another way to speak to Apple Support in such a case?

Thanks.

Thank you for your response, but I have to respectfully disagree. According to Apple’s own refund policy, users canrequest a refund in cases of accidental purchases or if the subscription was not used as intended — especially if the request is made shortly after the transaction. There are also many cases where refunds have been approved under similar circumstances.

My intention was not to "create my own trial," but rather to cancel promptly once I realized the subscription was not what I expected. This is a legitimate reason for a refund request, and it’s within my right as a customer to ask for it — regardless of whether it’s approved or not.

That said, your tone and phrasing come off unnecessarily dismissive. I'm here to discuss a support issue, not to be lectured. If you have nothing constructive to add beyond repeating policies, perhaps it's best to leave space for others who may have helpful input or similar experiences.

Thank you. I’m aware of the Apple Support link, but unfortunately, in my region (Israel), contacting Apple Support is often ineffective — responses are delayed or never arrive, and there’s no official Apple service center to escalate such issues directly.

That’s why I was hoping to hear if someone had success resolving similar subscription refund cases in alternative ways — either via a specific form, contact method, or advice that worked for them.

as you indicated that your request was denied, there is nothing more to do. You requested a refund, it was denied.

Thank you, but unfortunately, the link to Apple Support at the bottom of the page leads to the standard support form, which doesn’t resolve the issue. I was specifically asking about a direct email, escalation form, or any alternative way to get in touch with a real Apple specialist, since the standard support channels are ineffective in this case (especially considering there is no official Apple support in Israel).

If you have any specific contact information or a working method to reach a higher level of support, I’d truly appreciate the details.

Thank you, but I have not received any real support options or any effective way to resolve the issue. I was simply charged for a subscription that I cancelled immediately, and yet I am not given any option for a refund. This is not acceptable. I would like to know where exactly I can formally appeal this decision, as so far I’ve only received generic replies without any actual solution.
