Finding metadata for screenshots with altered names

I take screenshots frequently for evidential purposes. As I have so many, I needed to alter the file name as I saved it to the iCloud in order to differentiate the screenshots, eg 2025-11-03 became 'Parcel not sent'.

I need to know the date stamp of 'Parcel not sent' being screenshot, but I can't see the metadata of the image as I would for other pictures.

How do I access the data about this screenshot now that it is not in the screenshot's name?

Hello abi1515,

A screenshot is not like a photo with typical metadata (location...). A screenshot is a regular file and as such as the metadata associated to a regular file (date created, date modified...).

In your case, the "Date Created" info is the one you are looking for as it is the date and time the screenshot was made and recorded.
