What 3rd party monitors with an integrated webcam are compatible with my 16" MacBook Pro. I have tried a couple but cannot get the microphone to work on the monitor. The receiving party does not hear me. Does anyone know?

Most should be compatible. There is no specific requirement for Macs.
Having a webcam does not automatically mean it has a Mic. If it does have a mic in addition to the webcam, you might need to select the Mic from the Mac's Sound settings for use.
The Mac should use its own Mic if no mic is detected. It it detects a mic, then it will usually try to use that one.
If no audio is heard by the other party, check that the Monitor's mic is not muted. The monitor itself may have mic mute button.
Also, depending on the monitor, you may need additional cabling to enable the extra web cam and mic, such as USB connection or audio connection from the Mac to the monitor in addition to the video connection.
Without knowing the make and model of the monitor's it's hard to say what the issue may be.
What monitor's have you tried?
Unless I'm missing something, the Lenovo Thinkviison does not include a webcam or mic.

The Dell, states that it requires an additional USB cable for webcam and mic. Did you have one connected to the appropriate port?
...an additional USB-A to USB-C cable is required for the webcam/mic to work.
This is the TP model -
Lenovo ThinkVision P27q-30 27" 16:9 QHD IPS WLED LCD HDR Monitor with Webcam, Raven Black, and it did have a mic.
On the Dell we might of had the wrong cable.
We tried the Lenovo ThinkVision P27q-30 27" and
Dell S2722DZ 27-inch QHD 2560 x 1440 both with a USB cable. Both had the same issue. Do you know anything specific? Looked at laptop setting for microphone. It can't be this difficult?
