Thanks for the reply, I am looking for one that will charge an iphone 12 pro and my first generation apple watch. I have found lots of dual chargers but all that I have found don't list the first generation watch as being able to be charged on them. I read elsewhere on line that as long as it isn't a metal case it should be able to be charged wirelessly Is this correct? because I don't want to have to remove the case every time my phone needs charging. Also re the heat generation, what heats up? The phone or the watch? and how much heat does it generate.

The 1st generation Apple Watch (also known as the Apple Watch "Series 0") can be charged magnetically using either the Apple's Magnetic Charging Cable or a charging station that provide inductive charging for wireless charging. However, unlike newer models, the original Apple Watch does not support fast charging.

The heat is a byproduct of inductive charging. How much heat is generated will depend on the device's battery level. When the level is nearly depleted, it will be charged at a higher level that will produce more heat.
