I have a new iPhone 16 and I cannot get my MacBook Air to enable the hotspot from the new phone. I have toggled on and off allow hotspot on my phone. I have checked to see if I can do it through Bluetooth on my computer. My computer sometimes sees the hotspot and sometimes does not, but it still will not allow a connection.

I find using the iPhone's hotspot to be fairly straightforward.
On the iPhone:
• Go to Settings > Personal Hotspot and toggle "Allow Others to Join" to ON (green)
• Supply a Wi-Fi Password for the Hotspot connection.
• Toggle "Maximize Compatibility" to ON (green). This is optional, but I use it.
On the Mac:
• Click the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar – or go to System Settings... > Wi-Fi – and select the iPhone under Personal Hotspot. If you've never connected to the hotspot before then you'll be prompted for the password.
If you continue to have trouble, restart both the iPhone and the computer and try again.

Thank you so much for your help. Apparently I’m not very patient. I did reboot the computer and that was enough to take care of the issue apparently. I should’ve thought of that first again thank you so much.
Personal hotspot use requires that your cellular service plan includes the feature.
