We have a 2009 MacBookPro that seemed to have failed after a water spill. It recovered for a while, then failed again and could not be revived. The light on the Mac end of the power showed nothing. Now after leaving it for a few weeks I plugged the cord in and now it's flashing green. What does that mean? The Macbook still does not respond to the on switch.
That blinking green light on the magsafe connector means that the charging circuits of the computer are bouncing between charging states. They aren't supposed to do that. Your water intrusion appears to have damaged that circuit.
Your computer is damaged and the only way to fix it is to have a qualified tech do the work.
Unfortunately the computer is obsolete and new replacement parts are not available.
If you have anything of importance on that computer then I suggest you copy it off to an external drive so you don't lose it. After that, throw a party in honor of the MacBook's many years of dedicated service and let it retire.
