How do I fix sound issues when recording videos on iPhone 16 Pro?

When recording video on iPhone 16 Pro sometimes at some point the sound starts to shake (the sound freezes like on an old record) for a few seconds. After rebooting, updating the same thing.

Camera App video recording sound wuality terrible since upgrading to ios 26 All videos recorded using the camera app since upgrading to iOS 26 have terrible sound: one cannot hear ambient sounds like bird calls, waves, cars passing etc. All that comes through clearly is voice! This is NOT THE CASE when recording videos with other apps like WhatsApp or Facebook! It’s definitely some kind of filtering applied in the camera app that is NOT user adjustable! Every video I’ve recorded since iOS 26 is useless! 😕 iphone 11 iOS 26.01 I’ve tried all the usual approaches: force closing, reboots, everything I could find in settings etc. A call to Apple Support suggested erasing and restoring my phone…I’ll try that later today… I cannot be the only person on Earth with this issue?!?

Video recording microphone problem before and after iOS 18.4.1. update Hello all, I have a problem with the sound when recording a video (iPhone 13 mini) As you can hear in the video1 and video2, the sound is almost not heard at all and only a hissing sound. Sometimes the sound is heard well at first, but after a while it fades and all you can hear is a hissing sound again. Everything was still OK on Friday, I only noticed the problem on Saturday (iOS 18.4) Updating to 18.4.1 didn't help and a full reset didn't help neither. I also tried recording a video on SE 2022 with iOS 18.3.2 and everything is fine there. Do you think this is a software bug or is it more likely a fault with the microphones? Does anyone have a similar problem? Thank you for your answers :)

That’s quite possibly the cause. Please set to stereo or mono and record a short segment and see if it continues to happen.

Was Spatial Audio turned on, or was it set to Stereo or Mono?

Are you using only the internal microphones of your iPhone? Do you have anything plugged into the USB-C port on the bottom of your iPhone?

There were no additional devices connected, the settings are also standard. This is exactly what happens when playing video on any device.
