iphone won't load instagram, FB, webpages say 'connection lost' on wifi

My iphone and husband's iphone won't load instagram or facebook posts, reels, videos are just a blank screen even though the apps will open. Webpages also won't open and say "network/server connection is lost" and this is at home on wifi. I have checked wifi connections, signal strength, network reset on phone, reinstalling the apps, to no avail. meanwhile, my daughter's iPhone, all our iPads and laptops work fine on home wifi. I've tested wifi speeds to the gateway, all devices have strong signal, good connections etc. It has to be something on iPhone. Using iOS 18.3.2 recently updated to this, perhaps that is when the issue started.

It sounds like you've already taken a few steps to troubleshoot the issue! Since the problem is isolated to your iPhones and not your Wi-Fi network or other devices, it’s likely related to a setting or software issue on the affected iPhones. Here are some additional steps to try:

1. Check for iOS Updates

  • Go to Settings ➡️ General ➡️ Software Update and ensure both iPhones are running the latest iOS version.

2. Forget and Reconnect to Wi-Fi

  • On both iPhones, go to Settings ➡️ Wi-Fi, tap the info icon (ℹ️) next to your home network, and select Forget This Network. Then reconnect by entering your Wi-Fi password.

3. Disable Private Wi-Fi Address

  • Go to Settings ➡️ Wi-Fi, tap the info icon (ℹ️) next to your home network, and Set Private Wi-Fi Address to OFF. This feature can occasionally cause connectivity issues.

4. Check VPN or Security Apps

  • If you’re using a VPN or any security apps, temporarily disable them to see if they’re interfering with your connection.

5. Reset All Settings

  • Go to **Settings ➡️ General ➡️ Transfer or Reset iPhone ➡️ Reset ➡️ Reset All Settings. This won’t delete your data but will reset settings like Wi-Fi passwords and preferences.

6. Check App Permissions

  • Go to Settings ➡️ Apps ➡️ Instagram/Facebook and ensure all necessary permissions (e.g., Cellular Data, Background App Refresh) are enabled.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, contact 👉 Official Apple Support  or visit an Apple Store for further evaluation.
