eSims on iPhone 11

I know that the iPhone 11 only supports one eSim and a physical sim, and right now, I have a working eSim. Is it possible to just “switch off” or deactivate the current eSim I have to activate another eSim, or do I have to delete the eSim entirely for the other eSim to be activated? Thanks!

iPhone 11, iOS 18

You don't need to delete your current eSIM to activate another one. On your iPhone 11, you can simply deactivate the current eSIM by turning off its line. Here's how you can do it:

1. Open the Settings app.

2. Go to Cellular or Mobile Data.

3. Tap on the eSIM plan you want to deactivate.

4. Toggle OFF the option labeled Turn On This Line.

This will deactivate the current eSIM without deleting it, allowing you to activate another eSIM. If you ever want to switch back, you can simply toggle the line back on.
