I cannot purchase additional iCloud storage

I have selected the storage option I want to purchase. I confirm the next step re automatic renewal each month. Then a request for authentication Required - European legislation requires banks to authenticate certain transactions, I select OK. A new window opens & it continuously spins as if trying to connect, then nothing happens. The wheel keeps spinning.

Can someone advise how I can complete the payment please, thank you

RE:" I cannot purchase additional iCloud storage ..Can someone advise how I can complete the payment please",

They are many possible reasons for the issue you face. We can not be sure from the info. supplied:

You may find an answer from browsing through the suggestions below:

✽ Your iPad model and iPadOS version may not be up-to-date with your card=provider's security requirements

✽ You could check for any available iPadOS updates in Settings > General > Software updates

You may need to check with your card-provider why payments aren't verified / authenticated : eg:

✽ perhaps your account needs authorisation for intenational payments.

or

✽ if you have disputed a charge from Apple, you may need to authourise payments to Apple again.

Else:

✽ You may need to check whether your payment method is one that apple can accept in your country or region:

Am no expert in this area, and your bank's software security requirements are unknown ...It's my guess that your iPad's earlier software is unable to make secure enough connections for such private, sensitive transactions. I could be wrong .... however, a little research revealed the requirements below:

"iCloud1 requires an Apple Account, an active internet connection and up-to-date software. If you meet the recommended system requirements below, you can take advantage of the latest iCloud features and get the best overall experience. "

For "iPad, iPadOS 18" is recommended

above from Apple support's article: System requirements for iCloud - Apple Support

which also says:

"Minimum system requirements by feature

To use iCloud, you need at least iOS 10 on iPhone 5, iPad (4th generation) or iPad mini 2; watchOS 3 on an Apple Watch; macOS Sierra 10.12 on a Mac; tvOS 4 on an Apple TV (4th generation); or visionOS 1 on an Apple Vision Pro."

thank you Brbo, but none of this has helped. the iPad is from 2013.

The screen that is spinning & doing nothing, I believe is the screen that should be bringing me to the push notification of my bank to allow me authorise it. But it does not appear, so therefore no request is sent to my bank.

Any other suggestions?

thanks
