Can’t Run Apple Diagnostics (Error occurs when loading)

Hello there! Last night I accidentally dropped my MacBook Pro and I wanted to run Apple Diagnostics to make sure all the hardware is still looking ok. There’s no cosmetic damage, thankfully.

When I go to run the test, I get through startup options, hold command+D to start diagnostics, get all the way to picking the language, and then wait for about 1-3 minutes while it tries to load and then fails. I get the following message:

”An error occurred when attempting to load diagnostics. Try again by choosing "Restart to Diagnostics" from the Diagnostics Loader menu.”

I have tried this 7-8 times. Nothing is plugged in, I am using my regular home network that is connected to all of my devices and working fine otherwise. I would like to be able to run this just for some peace of mind.

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 15.3

Are you having any issue with the dropped Mac ?

if you are fully booted up and using it as you have always done without issue— i would just carry on.

The Diagnostic may simple not be available.

If your screen does not light up, you do not need a Diagnostic to tell you that you have a display issue(?)
