M1 MacBook Pro struggles to charge via USB-C

Hey everyone. My MacBook Pro M1 can't properly charge via USB-C cable. All USB-C ports have the same issue. In the beginning, it switches between the not charging symbol, charging symbol, and sometimes no symbol at all. It has to go through this cycle every time to begin charging. Each time, the number of cycles varies — sometimes just a couple, sometimes up to 10 times before it starts charging.

I'm using an Apple USB-C cable and charger, and this cable works fine with other devices. The Mac charges without any issues via a Lightning cable.

What could be the reason?

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 15.3

The most frequent reason is that either the USB cable you are using is not adequate for the task, or the Power Adapter is not the correct one for your Mac, and simply can't supply enough power.

There are a lot of different USB cables that all look identical, but many do not support high speed charging.

Then there is the possibility that something failed.
