How do I return or exchange the wrong Apple Pencil Pro for my iPad 11?

I accidentally purchased the wrong pencil (pro) for my iPad 11 through the Apple Store. It’s the wrong one. How do I return or exchange it?

Can I exchange an Apple Pencil 2nd generation for a 1st generation without a receipt?
