Hide My Email address still appearing in autofill despite deletion.

Hello, I am experiencing an issue with Hide My Email on my Mac.

I had previously generated an address for Instagram, and have since deleted it. But it is still shown as an autofill option on my Mac on Instagram's forgot my password site.

The email address is not saved in the Passwords app on my Mac, it does not appear in the Hide My Email settings in System Settings on my Mac or on iCloud.com, and this issue is not present on my other devices.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Dallen,

It sounds like your Mac might still be caching that old Hide My Email address in Safari’s autofill settings, even though it’s been deleted from iCloud. Here are a few things you can try:

1. Clear Safari Autofill Data

Go to Safari > Settings > Autofill and check under the “Other Forms” or “Emails” section. Also, in Safari > Settings > Privacy, try clicking Manage Website Data, search for Instagram, and remove any saved data for it.

2. Check Contacts

Open the Contacts app and search for the old Hide My Email address. Sometimes it can be stored in your personal contact card or elsewhere.

3. Remove from Keychain (if present)

Open Keychain Access and search for the Instagram site or the email address. If you see anything related, try removing it from there.

4. Restart your Mac

Sometimes changes to iCloud data like Hide My Email take a restart to fully clear from system memory and caches.

Let me know if any of that works!
