iPhone 13 battery draining quickly and randomly shutting off

Earlier today my phone was at 23% and four minutes later my phone had dropped to 6% with only one app up and running. Hard reset my phone and powered back on and percentage jumped up to 21% and repeated the same rapid decline. My phone will also randomly hard power off itself and I have to power it back on. I have an iPhone 13 at 81% battery health, is there anything I can do before purchasing a new phone?

You can have the battery replaced in your phone at an authorized Apple service shop or the Apple Store / Genius Bar.....if you are interested in the phone providing good service for the next 2-3 years.

Just Get the Battery Swapped:

Unfortunately, there is no way to determine why, nor when, the Battery Health decreased. Rather than purchase a new iPhone, just wait it out until the support for it ends. Apple typically provides support for update drivers for 7 years, and then stops providing the updates. So, you’d have 3.5 years until you need to get a new iPhone.

Troubleshooting iPhone Battery Draining:

A. Battery Drain Info:

The iPhone battery will drain, unless it is plugged in and charging. With lots installed, the charge would be slower. As for how fast it would drain the battery, that would depend on the battery health and the volume (sound) you use.

  1. Go Here: iPhone Battery and Performance - Apple Support
  2. Scroll Down: to "Your battery's maximum capacity"

B.. Troubleshooting the Battery:

Did this Occur After an Update"

C. Report this to Apple

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of your occurrence, if you don't report it to them.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: that this all began after installing an update. Include the URL of this post
  4. Proceed from there as necessary
