bedtime alarm not working when iPhone is on the dock iOS 18.4

It’s been a couple of weeks now. The bedtime alarm doesn’t work properly when my phone is charging specifically on the dock. I have tried…

-software update - no success

-reset all settings - no success

-turning off the vibrate function - no success

-regular corded charger - this works!

-setting a regular alarm instead of the bedtime setting - this works!

I have been awake before the bedtime alarm was supposed to to go off and noticed what it is actually doing is sounding the alarm for a split second and shutting off. Not sounding the alarm long enough to wake you up if you’re asleep, and not snoozing the alarm either.

I am very confused why a regular alarm will sound and act normal on my charging dock but the bedtime alarm will not. I have been using bedtime for years and this issue is just a couple to a few weeks old. Looking forward to a fix.

Hi,

I’m sorry to hear about the issues you’re experiencing with the Bedtime alarm on your iPhone when using your charging dock. Given that regular alarms function correctly in this setup, the problem seems specific to the Bedtime feature. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

  1. Disable Attention Aware Features: These features adjust the volume of alerts based on whether you’re looking at your device, which might interfere with alarm sounds. To disable them:
  • Go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode.
  • Enter your passcode
    • Scroll down and turn off Attention Aware Features.
  1. Turn Off StandBy Mode: StandBy mode can disable haptics for alarms, potentially causing issues. To turn it off:
  • Open Settings > StandBy.
    • Toggle off the StandBy switch.
  1. Delete and Recreate Alarms: Sometimes, existing alarms may have glitches. Deleting and setting them up again can help:
  • Open the Clock app and go to the Alarms tab.
  • Tap Edit and delete all existing alarms.
    • Create new alarms as needed.
  1. Use Third-Party Alarm Apps: If the issue persists, consider using a third-party alarm app like Alarmy or Loud Alarm Clock, which operate independently of the iOS alarm system and may offer more reliability.
  2. Contact Apple Support: If none of the above solutions work, there may be a deeper issue with your device. Reaching out to Apple Support or visiting an Apple Store can provide further assistance.

I hope these steps help resolve the problem with your Bedtime alarm. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, feel free to ask.
