Will find my notify my friend about my airpods he’s using?

So I let my gf (currently ex) borrow my airpods pro 2. She told me that it keeps notifying her that I am currently tracking her. Im just wondering if it notifies her that I am looking at the location of my airpods through find my, or is it just a normal thing for apple to notify them that the device is not with me?
