Why is my Apple TV 4K remote not connecting?

My Apple TV remote (4K - 2nd Gen) stopped working. I have followed the steps to restart and disconnect/reconnect. Nothing is working. The Apple TV is not detecting my remote whatsoever. The remote has been fully charged. Please advise.
