iPad mini 2nd generation is stuck on “Preparing iPad to Restore”
My 2nd Gen iPad Mini is connected to my MacBook Air and it stuck at “Preparing iPad to Restore” for a long time.

As described, you may need to force-restart your iPad - and then repeat the restore process.
Force restart iPad (models with the Home button)
Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
