when sharing a pdf that is an attachment to an email to an iphone 14 it ends up in Books. In the future I would never think to look in books for a pdf. Can/how I get it to files or somewhere else on my phone?

So when you press and hold on an attached PDF in the iPhone Mail app, do you get the following choices shown?
If you do get that pop-up, select Save to Files, and select a location within On My iPhone path.

In Safari > Settings > General > disable the Open “Safe” Files setting.
Test again.
Perhaps I was not clear...I want to save a pdf (from an attachment to an email) on my phone.
But that is not really the end of it...My need is to be able to put data in various file formats--pdf, MS doc, MS excel, etc--on my phone as I am often in locations with no wifi or cell service. Books seems an odd place for all of those, but maybe that is the only choice in which case I will just have to adapt. Before I give up on this I would like to know if there is any other option.
How do I stop PDFs from saving in Books on iPhone?
