How do I resolve persistent "Caps Lock" issue on MacBook Pro 16-inch Intel when Keyboard Viewer fails?

HELLO

I EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE ABOUT SIX MONTHS AGO AND WAS ABLE TO SOLVE IT BY DELETING *PLST FILES FROM THE LIBRARY+PREFERENCES FOLDER

THIS TIME IT IS NOT WORKING

AS YOU CAN SEE THE SHIFT KEY IS LOCKED NOT ALLOWING ME TO WRITE ANY SMALL CAPS OR COMAS OR FORWARD SLASH ETC

I AM UNABLE TO REBOOT IN RECOVERY MODE BECAUSE THE SYSTEM THINKS THAT I AM PRESSING THE SHIFT KEY THUS I CANNOT PRESS COMMAND R ON RESTART

WHEN I HAD THIS ISSUE SIX MONTHS AGO I XAS ABLE TO USE THE KEYBOARD VIEWER AS A WORKAROUND

THIS THIME IT IS NO HELP

WHEN I ACTIVATE THE KEYBOARD VIEWER IT SHOWS BOTH SHIFT KEYS ACTIVE AND IT ALSO WRITES ALL CAPS WHEN I USE IT

SOS* PLEASE HELP!

To proceed and a way forward —

You can disable the caps lock altogether

System Settings>Keyboard>Keyboard Shortcuts>Modifier Keys>Caps Lock Key>> Caps Lock

To trouble shoot further you can:

—A SafeBoot Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

Does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled temporarily.

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.

This test will tell you if third party interference; most extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

THANK YOU FOR THE RESPONSE>

I TRIED THE FIRST SUGGESTION THEN REBOOTED MY LAPTOP AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL HERE (AS YOU CAN SEE)

THE ISSUE IS NOT THE CAPS LOCK!

THE MODERATOR RETITLED MY POST TO SAY "CAPS LOCK" BUT THE REAL ISSUE IS THAT THE SYSTEM THINKS THAT THE SHIFT KEYS ARE PRESSED

THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE OF A DIRTY KEYBOARD OR A PHYSICAL KEYBOARD ISSUE

IN THE PAST I SOLVED THIS ISSUE BY DELETING *PLST FILES FROM MY PREFERENCES FOLDER

*COM APPLE DRIVER APPLEBLUETOOTHMULTITOUCH TRACKPAD PLST

*COM APPLE DRIVER APPLEBLUETOOTHMULTITOUCH MOUSE PLST

*COM APPLE DRIVER APPLEHDMOUDE PLST

*COM APPLE APPLEMULTITOUCHTRACKPAD PLST

*COM APPLE PREFERENCE TRACKPAD PLST (THIS LAST ONE IS NOT EVEN LISTED IN THE FILE)

LASTLY I AM NOT SURE I CAN REBOOT THE LAPTOP IN SAFE MODE AS THE SHIFT KEY IS STUCK AT REBOOT AND NOT LETTING ME PRESS ANY OTHER COMBINATION OF KEYS :(

ANY OTHER ADVISE?

THNK YOU |!
