Why does my iPhone 16 Pro not switch to 5G as quickly as previous models?

I do know from ChatGPT is that the iPhone 16 uses a different modem to connect to 5G than the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 16 Pro uses a different modem than the iPhone 16. It says it purposely does not use 5G when it doesn’t have to to save battery, but I thought when you put it on “5G on” it would regardless, but it certainly does not.

Just wondering if anyone else has anything similar in experience.

I haven’t had any similar experiences.

Like Lawrence, I’m not noticing any issues, but I live in a fairly large urban area. AT&T seems to have the issue covered on my 16 Pro Max and wife’s 15 Pro Max.
