Connecting Sony BPD-S3700 Blu-ray player to Mac Studio M1 via HDMI

I've tried an HDMI cable to no avail. Please help. TIA.

you most likely can't


judging from the product page for that player it's a standalone blueray player mean to be connected to a tv or monitor, not to a computer, if your computer have a hdmi port or you use some hdmi adaptor to fit one of it's port it's purpose is to connect another display to the computer not to act as input
