It is really difficult to accept that nowadays when all new iPhones can carry 2 sims, Whatsapp does not allow more than one account on iPhone. My 6 year old Galaxy S10 can now handle 2 whatsapp acconts simultaneously.

Complain to WhatsApp support. that's not an Apple product. Apple has no control over it.
