Why is a green dot showing constantly when switching apps on iPhone?

Whenever I open an app (any app) or get back to the home screen from an app the green dot appears indicating the camera is being used. It does it with all apps every time. I have an iPhone 12 Pro iOS 18.3.2.

I’ve closed all apps and it still does it . I don’t remember this happening in the past so I am a bit worried. After 4 seconds the green dot disappears, no matter if I am in an app or on the Home Screen

Swipe down from the top-right corner to open the Control Center, then tap the Camera being used in the top. It should tell you what app or application is using the Camera. Then you can go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Camera > Uncheck any apps you don't want camera access which you may have accidentally granted. If it's a webpage, close that out.
