How to fix Xfinity Wi-Fi issues with iPhone 16 Pro Max?

l have received no resolution and useless responses from Xfinity on WiFi connectivity problems after my modem was replaced. Apple went as far as replacing my iPhone 16 pro max even after firmly believing it was an Xfinity issue. I have tried every form suggestion both on Xfinity and Apple.

Is the only solution to add a mesh router, and if I do, will it support the Xfinity camera and security system?

Oh wait! I remember what I did that may have fixed it for me!

I logged into the router at 10.0.0.1

Then selected Connection in the left bar

Then found the Wireless Network (Wi-Fi 6 GHz) and hit edit

Set 6GHz to be inactive.

Ever since then, my phone happily migrates between the Router and Pods probably because it isn't switching from 6GHz connection on the router to 5GHz on the pod.

Disappointing update - disabling WiFi 6 hasn’t resulted in consistent connection as it seemed to the first day.

For me, I don’t think it’s a modem to pod (or vice versa) connection issue because I’ll lose internet even when I’m in the same room, using the iPhone 16 Pro Max in the same exact spot - it will just randomly drop internet. Still connected to the gateway, but with no working internet. I can tell it’s happening when the WiFi network status/symbol drops from full waves (four) to just one less (three). It will go back and forth all day when I’m at home.

Guess the search for a fix, if one exists between the two, continues. Getting the iPhone 17 Pro Max in a few weeks and expect the issue to worsen, but will try to update here either way.

I have the same problem mentioned many times with an iPhone 16pro. It will not maintain a WiFi connection at home to the Xfinity gateway or pod. Once it disconnects, the only fix is to delete the connection and re-enter the password. Rarely do I remain connected for a day. I have reset the phone, replaced the phone, replaced the Xfinity gateway with what I was told the latest model and deleted all apps except essential. And I have removed the VPN. Can’t remember how many times I have restarted the gateway or repositioned the pod.

I saw a suggestion to add a WiFi mesh router rather than use the one Xfinity pod to extend my home wireless network. The 16pro max is the only device that has a problem, which began around one month ago.

Oh my gosh! It's not just me!! I have been struggling with this on my iphone 16 pro and it's driving me insane!!!!!! If I am in my home office right next to the Xfinity router I am fine. But if I walk to another room, and this is frustrating because I have xfi pods all around my house, my calls drop! It is such a pain! Everyone in my family thought I was nuts, but I feel so better that I'm not, lol! But I am aggravated that there is no fix for this. And I'm mad that Xfinity is trying to say it is not their router, which I know for a fact it has to be because my phone doesn't do this anywhere else, but at home. In fact at times if I know I have to make an important call and I'm like in the kitchen, I'll put my iphone on cell service and my calls don't drop. But what a pain that is, and if someone calls me it's on the wifi and hard to turn off while talking to someone. Xfinity PLEASE acknowledge and fix this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, I've been searching the internet for a fix, and I have been reading things on both Apple and Xfinity sites, and others. Apparently, I forgot which site I was on lol. I tried to see if I could edit my post, but I can't figure out how to get it to let me edit it. I'm so frustrated at this whole thing, I just want someone, anyone to fix it!

All my Apple devices connect seamlessly to all my xfi pods including my 16pro max. But as soon as I got the xb8 modem the 16 pro max started to have issues. Once it try to go from the modem to the pod it disconnects completely. Resulting in disconnected FaceTimes slow internet etc… only way to reconnect is to completely remove the network and re add password. All other devices Apple and android work fine. Seamlessly connect as we move thru the house or the yard.

the issue definitely has to be connected to XB8-XFI pod-16pro/ pro max combo.

I’ve been dealing with this for months since I got the xb8 modem

please help!!!

II have the same issue as everyone else. iPhone 16 Pro won’t connect to XFi pods since I got the new XB8 modem. Only when I forget the network and reconnect, it will connect to the closest pod. But as soon as I get near the gateway, it connects to the gateway and never goes back to the pod. I’ve already switched to WPA 3 Personal Transition, and that still made no difference. I’ve been dealing with this for over a year, searching forums. This is extremely disappointing and has made me hate my phone and service, giving me the worst possible experience when I’m at home.

I do have a 2Gb connection to the house and it does actually help with the 5G wifi too. Theoretically, you're right it shouldn't make a difference, but the whole set up has access to greater bandwidth so it seems to pick everything up quite a bit. My MacBook and Mac Studio are the real winners each WiFi 6e capable and the 10G wired connection on the studio is going to be nuts. Haven't had a chance to hook it up yet, that's next.
