My airpod gen 1’s are blinking orange and the left airpod won’t connect.

I’ve tried everything, cleaning, resetting, updating my phone, letting the airpods sit by themselves, but nothing works. whenever i have both airpods in the case flashes orange, but when i have just one in then it’s green, and only the right airpod connects every time. my warranty expired so i don’t think i can even get a replacement, pls helpppp
